Eclipse makes friends in Stockholm with Oriflame

Swedish beauty company, Oriflame Cosmetics, currently one of the fastest-growing direct sales beauty companies with annual sales of over €15 billion worldwide, recently celebrated its 45th anniversary at Stockholm's newest and largest venue, the Friends Arena. The 4-day Oriflame Global Gold Conference, hailed as one of the biggest events in Sweden during 2012, culminated in a spectacular gala awards dinner for over 4000 of the company's most privileged guests and employees. Swedish rental company and Innovason distributor, Electrosound, who handled the soundmix for the event, opted for an Innovason Eclipse digital console at the heart of the Meyer Sound PA system from Swedish rental company Starlight.

According to Electrosound’s Brollan Soderstrom who set up and piloted the Eclipse for the event, it was an extraordinary show, and quite complex to manage as there was so much going on. “Oriflame is a very big deal here in Sweden, and the gala dinner, along with the rest of the conference, entirely reflected their elevated and upmarket status,” he said. “There were several different types of live entertainment, from rock/pop groups to acrobats, dancers and more, as well as the speeches and awards presentations,” he explained. “That’s a lot of microphones and lots of different scene changes!”

“I filled the Eclipse up to the maximum using all 104 inputs and all 48 busses as well,” continued Brollan. “The busses disappeared quickly as I did a lot of complicated delay grouping to generate “Haas effect” stereo imaging from four large clusters of the new Leo system from Meyer Sound. The result was a really nice, wide open sound with plenty of depth and great intelligibility. It all sounded absolutely fantastic!”
