Innovason launches Nova 2.0 software for Eclipse

Innovason is delighted to announce the launch of Nova 2.0, their latest version software for the Eclipse digital mixing console. As always, the priorities for Innovason are sound quality, flexibility and user-friendliness. With those three principles in mind, Nova 2.0 offers a whole host of improvements as well as some brand new features that once again set new standards for live sound and identify Eclipse as unique in its class.

One of the most significant features of Nova 2.0 is the detection and management of Neumann’s renowned Solution-D Series digital microphones via Neumann’s new DMI-8 AES42/EtherSound interface. As soon as one or several DMI-8s are connected to the EtherSound network, Eclipse can patch and control all digital microphones connected to the device. Furthermore, all the parameters may be saved as snapshots and/or export files. This feature represents a major step forwards in improving and refining sound quality yet again, as it enables the audio to remain in the digital domain from the microphone all the way out to the amplifiers. No other console can offer this functionality. There is also a powerful package of new effects and EQs to enable engineers to further tailor the sound to their liking.

In terms of flexibility, Innovason has always prided itself on the fact that the console can be configured however you like in order to best suit the engineer. Nova 2.0 offers even faster and easier configuration tools including Fast Config which enables you to define what is automatically configured for you. This is a very useful feature for festivals where speed and efficiency is of the essence, and also for users who would like to create their own “default” channel set-ups.

Another new feature of Nova 2.0 is the Multi-Mix Memory which enables several different mixes to be saved on just one bus. This is a very valuable tool for when different musicians are part of the same show, but not necessarily on the same day. For example, a church may have one drummer who does the weekend services and a different one who plays during the week. Each drummer can have his own mix saved to the same aux – it just needs to be selected from the list. In that way, auxes are not rendered redundant just because that particular musician is not there that day.

Other features that continue to enhance the user-friendly, intuitive nature of Eclipse include new “on-the-fly” stereo management, new smart link functions with direct access for faster, easier channel linking, and a large collection of functions that are assignable to user pots and knobs on the control surface for even greater personalization of the console.

According to Innovason’s Marcel Babazadeh, Nova 2.0 is everything Eclipse users could have hoped for and more. “We’ve managed to integrate just about everything we were asked for, and include some really cool new stuff besides. Nova 2.0 is a real evolution, and makes what was already a great console even better.”
