Innovason busy in Russia with new distributor, Imlight

Innovason is pleased to announce the appointment of IMLIGHT LLC as the brand’s new distributor in Russia. Headquartered in Kirov in north-eastern Russia with offices in Moscow, Imlight is one of Russia’s premier manufacturers and distributors of professional sound, lighting and staging equipment. They also have a large systems contracting division as well as a major rental division that handles some of the biggest tours and events throughout Russia.

Imlight has already got off to a flying start with Innovason with a number of concerts using Eclipse GT already under their belts and many more planned. Some of the biggest include a tour with one of Russia’s biggest (and most controversial) singer/songwriter pop stars, Philipp Kirkorov. Imlight’s rental department handled the sound requirements for the part of the tour that went through their region. According to Imlight’s Pavel Zausov, Kirkorov’s engineer was delighted with the performance of the Eclipse GT, despite initial reservations as he was more used to working on analogue consoles. In fact, he was so pleased with it that he said he would put it on his riders from now on.

“It was the same thing for Thomas Anders’ engineer,” explained Pavel. Thomas Anders is a German artist who was the lead singer of Germany’s popular pop-duo, Modern Talking. “During our preliminary negotiations with the sound engineer he had requested to use an analogue console from a different manufacturer. Unfortunately, just before the sound check we discovered a few technical problems with the console, so we immediately swapped it out for an Eclipse GT. The engineer was initially resistant to going from an analogue to a digital console, but once we’d spent just a few minutes showing him around the Eclipse, he was like a child with a new toy! He picked it up very quickly, and commented on how intuitive and easy to use it was. He was also extremely impressed by the sound quality, so it was a positive experience all round.”

In fact, Imlight have been very busy with their Eclipse GT since they took delivery at the end of last year. Other events include a concert of Russian Orthodox music given by the Orthodox Children’s Choir of the Arkhangelsk Diocese who travelled to Moscow to perform in Moscow’s Red Square in front of a crowd of thousands, as well as a number of concerts with other well known Russian performers.

“In every case, the engineers have been most impressed with the simplicity of operation of the Eclipse, even if they weren’t already familiar with the console. In fact, for some of the engineers, this was the first time they had worked with a digital console at all, and yet they were still up and running in no time once we’d given them a quick overview,” noted Pavel. “I am very pleased to be working with Innovason and I am confident that we can make it a popular brand in Russia.”
