INNOVASON for NZ OB 2002-02-15
AUSTRALIA - Melbourne-based international television broadcasting company On Site Broadcasting (OSB) has purchased four INNOVASON Sensory Grand Live digital audio mixing consoles to equip its new outside broadcast facilities for New Zealand. The new OB trucks will provide coverage of sporting events including test cricket, one-day international cricket, rugby union, rugby league and soccer, as part of a five-year contract with Sky TV New Zealand. All four consoles are scheduled to be installed and operational by January 2002.
The contract for Production Audio Services to supply the consoles was signed in late September after OSB broadcast services manager Paul Eglington and the company's Ralph Skendzic looked over the first of the consoles before it was shipped to New Zealand.
Eglington believes that the total
recall snapshot facility in a lightweight frame made the INNOVASON the best console for OSB's purposes. "Not only is there less initial capital outlay, but gains continue to be made as a result of its operational efficiencies in preparation, installation and reconfiguration time," he says.
Skendzic was impressed with the console's wide range of digital features."Each input channel has a compressor and gate and 4-band fully parametric equalisation, and each desk output includes 1.3 seconds of delay, eight bands of equalisation, a compressor and gate," he says. "Combine that with the 150m digital multicore over a single 750 co-axial cable and this affords OSB significant cost and space saving, a major consideration for OB trucks."
